We are fortunate to live in the Tri-State where the cost of living, not only in housing, but also in other sectors is lower than the national average. Housing choices abound in Southwest Indiana – and prices are easy on the wallet. In fact, median housing prices in 2006 for the Evansville area were $50,600 lower for existing housing than the national average. Options include restored Victorian homes with river views, new subdivisions, downtown loft apartments and high-rise condominiums. Officials say that homeowners relocating from around the country are often surprised at how much house they can buy for the money in Southwest Indiana.
