For the moment the Evansville building commission has waved inspections on homes that need to be re-connected to the electricity grid. The building commission will review this again on Wednesday. We will get you the information as soon as it becomes available.
Building Permits Not Required
Some people in Evansville who are desperately trying to get their power back on say the city is responsible for causing delays.
Monday the city began requiring electricians working to repair storm damage on homes to get inspections from Evansville's building commission before allowing Vectren to restore power.
That was a change from a policy enacted just after the winter storm to make the process easier.
But after complaints, the city has once again eased the rules.
Something one property owners says is necessary in order to get renters back in their homes.
The building commission says they will once again review the policy on Wednesday.
Then they will decide whether to require inspections again.
