EVANSVILLE - NEWS 25 is once again teaming up with Gerling Law and Deaconess Hospital to keep your kids safe this summer by giving away free bicycle helmets to needy Tri-State children.
Parents can bring their kids to the Gerling Law offices at 519 Main Street on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to pick up a free helmet. Volunteers will be on hand to make sure that your child's helmet fits properly.
Statistics from the National SAFE KDIS Campaign show children who don't wear a helmet are 14 times more likely to be involved in a fatal wreck. Statistics also show bicycle helmets can reduce the risk of a head injury by 85% and brain injury by 88%.
