The Greater Evansville Susan G. Komen Foundation announced Wednesday morning the annual race is moving downtown.
The move has been in the works for the last two years. The race is traditionally held on Evansville's eastside near Eastland Mall, but event coordinators hope the switch downtown will attract more people. The race is also moving to Saturday. In years past a Sunday date was chosen to interfere as little as possible with Eastside traffic. The theme of this year’s race, "Pink Goes Green"-- coordinators looking for clever ways to make the race eco-friendly. For instance walk, bike or carpool to the event. Also, sign up online to save paper.
